Fee Structure

I don’t think cost should ever be a barrier to accessing mental health care. Hopefully this page will address any concerns you may have about the cost of therapy with me. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Session Fees

My private pay rate is $150 per session. The benefit of private pay is confidentiality- only you and I will know that you are seeing a therapist. Additionally, I am not required to make a diagnosis or follow an insurance company’s restrictions or rules, i.e. determination of length of treatment.

No Surprise Act and Good Faith Estimates

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

Sliding Scale

I believe therapy should be accessible to everyone, so I reserve a portion of my caseload for clients who do not have insurance and cannot afford my session fees. These appointments are limited in number and based on demonstrated economic hardship. I am flexible and open to mutually agreeing upon a fee that works for your budget- please don’t hesitate to bring this up with me!

Insurance

I am in-network with a variety of insurance providers, including Optum (i.e. United Healthcare, Oscar, Oxford), Aetna (i.e. Meritain), and Cigna. The decision to use, or not use, your health insurance is up to you. Insurance can make therapy more affordable by reducing costs. There are however, known trade-offs, including the need to share your information and the services I provide with insurance companies. I am happy to discuss this further and help you weigh the pros and cons of using insurance during our initial consultation call. If you know you would like to use insurance for our sessions, please reach out to your insurance provider to ask about your mental health benefits.
