Hi! I’m Ruthie.

I am a licensed clinical social worker passionate about providing individual and couples therapy to adults, and a board-approved qualified supervisor for registered clinical social work interns in the state of Florida offering clinical supervision and case consultation to both new and established therapists.

I have experience treating anxiety and depression, trauma and PTSD, dating and relationship concerns, family issues, pregnancy and postpartum experience, co-parenting challenges, stress management, grief and loss, identity and LGBTQ+ issues, life transitions, communication issues, conflict resolution, trust and infidelity repair, emotional disconnection, value/moral differences, intimacy and sex concerns, and decision-making regarding separation/divorce.

I work completely remotely through a telehealth platform with Florida residents. Residents must be in Florida at the time of the appointment, per Florida state laws and regulations.

Services

  • I think the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship of trust between the therapist and the client. Without that trust and support, it’s impossible to create a safe space with someone, especially a stranger you’ve never met before, to explore, open up, and grow. I’ve worked with people who have never spoken to a therapist before, people who have been in and out of therapy their whole lives, and everyone in between. Of all the goals I keep in mind when working with someone new, perhaps the most important to me is to make sure you feel comfortable with me.

I am genuine and warm, and approach my practice with an empathic, compassionate, and non-judgmental perspective. In addition, my therapeutic approach is anti-racist, anti-oppressive, culturally-informed, and is rooted in a social justice framework. I know that our intersecting identities influence every aspect of our lives and our experiences, and creating a space where you are welcomed to speak candidly and openly is intrinsic to the way I practice.

  • Relationships can be both deeply fulfilling and incredibly challenging. Couples therapy offers a supportive and nonjudgmental space to explore and identify your patterns of communication, rebuild trust, deepen connection, and navigate conflict in healthier ways. Whether you are facing a specific issue, want to discuss something proactively before it becomes a problem, or simply want to strengthen your relationship, therapy can help you grow together with greater understanding, compassion, and empathy for each other.

It’s an honor when a couple let’s me be a witness to their relationship and an extension of their support system. Helping people build and strengthen healthy relationships is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work.

  • Individual Clinical Supervision for Florida RCSWIs

I would love to help you begin your journey toward licensure, by offering individual supervision sessions per Florida board regulations.

Supervision is an opportunity to develop the necessary therapeutic skills and tools to support your clients and become a competent clinician. Finding and choosing the right supervisor for you is vital. In supervision, I utilize a similar approach as my therapeutic style. I strive to support and challenge you to encourage your growth as a new therapist. I see my role as creating a safe and supportive environment that encourages vulnerability and accountability while learning.

It’s important for us to meet first to decide if working with each other will be a mutually good fit. Please contact me to set up a consultation where we can get to know each other and discuss my rates. I offer a sliding scale and equity pricing.

Group Supervision for Early Career Clinicians

This group is a good fit for therapists early in their careers who want access to a supportive learning environment providing case consultation and guidance, resources, and support. By participating in the group you would also have access to consult me by email, text, and phone calls as needed, and group size will be capped to ensure personalized attention. This group is open to all therapists regardless of location, so per state regulations I will not be signing off on hours for licensure unless you are located in Florida and we discuss a separate supervision agreement.

    Case Consultation for Established Clinicians

Peer consultation is a vital and essential tool for established therapists to support one another, learn from our colleagues’ expertise and clinical experiences, build our therapeutic skills and effectiveness, and challenge ourselves to grow as clinicians. I offer a safe, supportive, and confidential place to talk about the complexities of cases, share ideas of clinical interventions and therapeutic modalities, and discuss challenging professional or workplace environmental issues.
